Privacy policy
Who is responsible
Marvin Ruben Ajin Alvarado, an independent developer based in Guatemala City, runs this site and is responsible for the data handled through it. For anything privacy-related: hello@marvin.lat.
What I collect
- What you send me. If you write by email, WhatsApp or LinkedIn, I receive your name, your contact details and whatever you choose to tell me about your project. Those messages travel through each platform, not through this site.
- Usage statistics, only with your permission. If you accept cookies, Google Analytics 4 records aggregated data: which pages you visit, for how long, what kind of device and browser you use, and your approximate country or city. GA4 does not store your IP address.
- Server logs. Like any website, the hosting server records the IP address, time and requested page of each visit. They are used for security and troubleshooting, and are handled by the hosting provider.
I do not collect sensitive data, I do not build profiles of you, and I do not use your data for automated decisions.
Why I use it, and on what basis
- To answer your messages and, if we work together, run the project. Basis: your request and, where it applies, our contract.
- To understand which content is useful and improve the site. Basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To keep the site secure and running. Basis: my legitimate interest in protecting it.
Who else sees it
Only the providers that make each channel work, each under its own privacy policy:
- Google (Google Analytics), if you accept cookies. Configured with Google Signals, advertising features and ad personalisation turned off.
- Meta (WhatsApp), if you message me there. Chats are end-to-end encrypted.
- LinkedIn, if you contact me there.
- The hosting and email providers for marvin.lat, to serve the site and receive your emails.
Some of these providers process data in the United States. They offer safeguards for international transfers, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
I never sell, rent or pass your data to anyone for marketing.
How long I keep it
- Conversations: while we are talking or working together, and up to two years after our last contact — unless you ask me to delete them sooner, or the law requires me to keep something longer (invoices, for example).
- Google Analytics: 14 months, after which Google deletes the data automatically.
- Your cookie choice: stored in your browser for 12 months, then I ask again.
Your rights
At any time you can ask me to:
- Show you the data I have about you.
- Correct it if it is wrong.
- Delete it.
- Stop or limit a particular use of it.
- Send it to you in a portable format.
- Withdraw your consent to cookies, without affecting what was processed before.
Write to hello@marvin.lat and I will reply within 30 days. If you live in the European Union and feel I did not handle your request properly, you can complain to your country’s data protection authority.

The design, code and text of this site are mine unless stated otherwise. You are welcome to quote or link to them with attribution; for any other use, ask me first.
Client brands and projects
Project names, logos and screenshots belong to their owners. They appear only to show work I took part in, and do not mean those brands endorse this site. Certification badges belong to the organisations that issue them.
External links
This site links to third-party services — WhatsApp, LinkedIn, client sites, credential verification pages. I do not control their content or their policies.
No warranty
I look after this site carefully, but I cannot promise it is free of errors or always available, and I am not liable for decisions made solely on the basis of its content.
Governing law
This notice is governed by the laws of the Republic of Guatemala, without prejudice to any rights the law of your own country gives you as a user.
Changes and contact
If something important changes — say I add a contact form or a new service — I will update this page and the date at the top. For any question about privacy or this notice, write to hello@marvin.lat.
